Cazoo Open

Global football superstar Gareth Bale will be the tournament host when the Cazoo Open returns to The Twenty Ten Course from 4th-7th August 2022.

Bale, who has made 100 appearances for Wales, is an avid golf fan and will join the stars of the DP World Tour in the pre-tournament Pro-Am on Wednesday 3rd August.

Celtic Manor has staged the tour event 17 times and former winners include Ryder Cup stars Paul McGinley, Paul Lawrie, Ian Poulter, Robert Karlsson, Miguel Angel Jiménez, Graeme McDowell and Alex Noren.

Bale said: “I am very much looking forward to hosting the Cazoo Open at Celtic Manor. Last year’s tournament was a really exciting boost for Welsh golf and this year will be even better.

“The course is a great test for any golfer and I am delighted I will be there in person as host of the tournament and also as a fan to watch what promises to be four days of fantastic golf at a brilliant venue.”

Last year, Spaniard Nacho Elvira won his maiden DP World Tour title when he defeated South Africa’s Justin Harding in a play-off.

As well as thrilling finishes, the event has also seen a close shave with the European Tour's first ever round of 59 (Phillip Archer 2006), one player scoring two holes in one on the same hole (Elliot Saltman on the 17th, 2011), and the European Tour's record long drive of 447 yards (Nicolas Colsaerts on the 18th, 2014).

The stars of the renamed DP World Tour return for the Cazoo Open from 4th-7th August 2022. Tickets can be purchased here.
