Guests have the opportunity to fish for salmon, brown trout and sea trout on the nearby River Usk.

Synonymous with some of the best salmon and brown trout fishing outside of Scotland, our experienced Ghillie is able to guide you in the skills required to fish this dramatic tidal river.

The season runs every year from 3rd March to 17th October. To protect the habitat of the river there are a number of restrictions regarding fishing during this period as detailed below:

Fly fishing only, barbless hooks.

16 Jun – 15 Sep: Limited catch and keep - catch and release is encouraged but one salmon may be kept, with all additional fish released back to the river. Fly, spin and worm fishing - once you have caught one salmon, barbless hooks must be used and bait fishing is no longer permitted.
