This year we were delighted to host the Wales Golf Awards at The Twenty Ten Clubhouse and to win the award for Sustainability Project of the Year.
Celtic Manor Resort Achieves Golf Wales Sustainability Project of the Year Award
This is more fantastic recognition for our commitment to environmental best practice following our success in winning two separate GEO (Golf Environment Organisation) Certifications in 2025.
Conservation and biodiversity projects undertaken since the creation of our Environment and Ecology Stewardship team include:
- Rewilding landscapes around golf courses to encourage pollination and insect life
- 200 bird boxes hand-built to encourage bird life, including kestrels, starlings, swifts and barn owls
- 10 bat boxes also help to control harmful turf pests such as leatherjackets
- 12 ‘bug hotel’ insect hibernation installations
Efforts to protect habitats and encourage biodiversity were further rewarded with the first sighting of an otter on the waters of the Twenty Ten Course and the harvesting of the first honey produced by our 300,000 bees.
The achievements of the past 12 months were only the latest steps in a sustainability journey spanning more than three decades that has seen the Celtic Manor Resort maintain and operate its championship golf courses in harmony with the environment.
