Both the men’s and women’s championships provided drama right down to the final hole before Lee and Sräga prevailed – each by a single stroke – after three days of compelling competition on the Roman Road Course.

Lee, the No 2 player on the World Ranking for Golfers with Disability, secured victory on his debut at The G4D Open, closing with a one-over-par 71 for a winning total of three-over for the 54 holes.

The 28-year-old former US Adaptive Open champion held his nerve for a par down the last to edge out overnight leader, Issa Nlareb A Amang from Cameroon, by a shot. The runner-up had earlier closed the gap in dramatic fashion with a chip-in eagle on the penultimate hole.

Sräga, 26, who came second on her debut in 2025, also made a crucial par on the 18th to deny Daphne van Houten from the Netherlands a hat-trick of G4D Open titles. Born with achondroplasia, commonly called short stature, Sräga’s two birdies on the front nine also proved key.

The G4D Open, staged in partnership with The R&A and the DP World Tour and supported by EDGA, was held for the first time in Wales after three previous editions at Woburn.

The G4D Open also produced winners in nine sport classes across multiple impairment groups, with 80 men and women competitors in all, aged from 16-70, and representing 25 countries from across the globe. Closer to home, Celtic Manor member and former club captain Richie Willis, who lost a leg in a lorry accident in 1999, enjoyed local knowledge and home support as he competed in the championship for the first time.
