About Motoring at the Manor 2019

A spectacular celebration of motoring culture! Guests will be able to get up close and personal to these magnificent machines but also hear from some of the leading Speed Kings and Queens who have driven to new heights and tested the limits.

The day will be a mix of static displays, demonstration drives, interviews with motor racing and rally personalities as well as competitions, live music, entertainment and much more! The event will be hosted by prolific motor historian and published author, Graham Robson against the beautiful backdrop of the Celtic Manor Resort.

Family Day Out

As Motoring at the Manor takes place on Father's Day, it is the perfect opportunity to get together as a family.

Be sure to turn in to the complimentary family activities, such as:

K'Arts and Crafts Pit Stop - Children can colour, design, stick and build with creative motor-themed crafts for them to take home as a fond memoir of the day out.

Racing Faces - Take a pit stop and drop in for a quick respray as we customise your grill with face painting stencils and glitter tattoos!

Charity Ride-In Drive Experiences

This is your chance to experience all the thrills of motorsport alongside a leading rally driver in one of the sport’s most iconic cars.

Buckle up for the ride of your life and make a real difference with all proceeds going to our official charity, Mission Motorsport to support their amazing work helping ex-service men and women recover and retrain to rebuild their lives within the automotive and wider engineering sector.

The unique experiences are priced at £100 and the monies raised are in aid of official charity partner, Mission Motorsport.

Choose from one of five sensational drive experiences:

Matt Edwards - Ford Fiesta
The current British Rally Champion, Welshman Matt Edwards will drive a current 4-wheel drive and turbocharged Ford Fiesta, giving passengers a real insight into modern rallying

David Llewellin - Audi Quattro
A Welsh rallying legend, two-time British Rally champion David Llewellin will power up an iconic 1983 Audi Quattro, the car that won both the British and World championships that year.

Phil Collins - Ford Escort Mk2
Herefordshire’s Phil Collins once gave the late, great Formula 1 world champion Ayrton Senna a rally test drive. This is your chance to join Phil in his classic 2.5 litre Ford Escort Mk2.

Nicky Grist - Toyota Celica GT4
Welshman Nicky Grist will take the wheel of the 4-wheel drive and turbocharged Toyota Celica GT4, the car in which he was the co-driver guiding Juha Kankkunen to the 1993 World Rally Championship.

Andy Dawson - Ford Escort Mk2
An acclaimed winner of international rallies in the 1970s, Andy Dawson helped develop the iconic Mk2 Escort with Ford which won the RAC Rally six years in a row and landed the world title in 1981.

Throughout the day, we will be bringing you entertaining Q&A interviews with some of the most inspiring personalities in motorsport.

Distinguished motorsport journalist and historian Graham Robson will be our host for some fascinating behind-the-scenes revelations.

British Rally Championship winning Welshmen past and present, Llewellin and Edwards will delight their home fans with tales from the winding roads

World Rally Championship winning driver and co-driver respectively, Italy’s Biasion and Welshman Grist will recount some of their greatest triumphs on the global stage

2.30pm Anthony Reid

Known as King of the Hill at Goodwood’s Festival of Speed, few drivers have raced and succeeded in as many different classes of motorsport as Anthony Reid

3.45pm Rosemary Smith

Listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest person ever to drive a Formula 1 car, aged 79 years young, Rosemary Smith has many more claims to fame as a pioneering female rally driver
