“The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals moved its Annual Payroll and Pensions Conference to the Celtic Manor Resort in 2012 and happily signed a 5 year contract, and now an additional year, creating a ‘home’ for the event.
The professionalism of the staff at all stages of the event gives the CIPP Events team confidence in producing an excellent and successful event. Prior to the event, the Client Relationship Manager, Rebecca Green, ensures that the contract and the relationship with the CMR Events Manager, Sophie Pring is in place. Sophie is in constant contact with the CIPP events team ensuring that all details are correct for the event, and is involved in the menu tasting, final details bedroom allocation and assisting with any issues on the day. Rebecca is always on hand with her friendly and positive manner. “We chose The Celtic Manor Resort as it had been the venue of the 2010 Ryder Cup so, in theory, it was a logical choice for the pre-eminent European amateur team golf event of the year.
We were not disappointed. “Clockwork” is the term that springs to mind in describing how well the staff of the resort and golf courses organised our event and our stay at the hotels for 258 players plus 142 partners and national federation staff from 22 countries.
The can-do attitude from each and every member of staff involved meant we experienced what can only be described as ‘event perfection’. As an experienced Tournament Director, I can safely say that hosting a big event like this without a single complaint was a pinnacle moment for me.”

Valero Benefit For Children Golf Classic
Valero is a Texas-based Fortune 500 energy corporation whose UK operations include the Pembroke Refinery in Wales. This is the first time the company has used Celtic Manor as a venue for its annual Valero Benefit for Children Golf Classic, raising funds for children’s charities.
