Need advice for booking your Honeymoon?
If you are planning a Wedding you will be familiar with the huge list of things that need your attention. From choosing your venue, the perfect dress, who to have as your bridesmaids, what flavour cake to have, should you have wine on the table... the list is endless. Naturally after all the work that goes into a Wedding the bride and groom are ready for a well deserved honeymoon, but then comes more choices and decisions to make!
To help you in your selection we asked our Wedding Fayre stage sponsor, Kuoni, for some expert tips and advice:
- How much should we spend on our honeymoon?
Depends on what your budget is, some people opt for a short city break and some people use it as an opportunity to take a month off work to go travelling. However the average honeymoon cost would be between £5000 - £6500.
- What are the most popular honeymoon destinations?
The most popular would be The Maldives - simply paradise on earth - and many people twin this with another destination such as Dubai or Sri Lanka. The Caribbean and The Far East are also favourites and over the last few years we have seen an increase in Safaris in Kenya and South Africa.
- When should we take our honeymoon?
Some people go straight after their wedding, however we are seeing a trend for people doing mini moons then having a bigger belated honeymoon to ensure they are going when the weather is best for their chosen destination.
- There is so much choice! How can we find the right honeymoon for us?
Speak to an expert who will get to know what is important to you and then come up with some options to ensure it’s a trip to remember, online blogs can be useful too as well as recommendations from other people.
- What are your top tips when planning to book a honeymoon?
Have an idea of what experiences you want for example if you want a complete chill out then choosing a USA road trip may not be the best choice, also consider travelling at different times of the year which will sometimes help you avoid the peak holiday times.
Try and do some research so you have some ideas beforehand and finally have a discussion with each other so you are both wanting the same thing.
