More great shows added to our calendar

19 April 2018

It has been an exciting time at Celtic Manor and ICC Wales as we have just announced two fantastic new events for 2019.

First up, we launched Motoring at the Manor which will take place on Sunday 16th June, the day after our established Polo at the Manor fixture and making it a real weekend of sport and speed to start the summer.

Then last week we announced the first entertainment event for the new International Convention Centre Wales with the Imperial Ice Stars coming here to perform a Christmas season of The Nutcracker on Ice.

With such a fantastic arena created down by the Twenty Ten Course each year for Polo at the Manor, we have been exploring options for making more use of the vast hospitality marquee and Polo Village – taking this beyond a one-day event.

Motoring at the Manor seems the perfect fit and we will have car displays covering Classic, Race, Super and Rally categories as well as a Concours d’Elegance featuring the pick of many prestige vehicles filling the Polo Field.

As a motoring enthusiast myself, I am really looking forward to seeing this new event and early ticket sales have exceeded our expectations, so there is a definite appetite out there for this type of event in South Wales.

The date also coincides with Father’s Day and Motoring at the Manor will be the perfect day out for all the family, not just car aficionados, with plenty of food and drink outlets and other attractions in the event village as well as children’s activities to keep the little ones entertained.

Families will also want to save a date in their diaries in December and January for our first box office event at ICC Wales - The Nutcracker on Ice. We are delighted to be putting on such a spectacular show with the Imperial Ice Stars, who have performed to standing ovations from millions of people all over the world.

For more than a decade, this enchanting ice dance show has been captivating audiences of all ages with its magical story, world-class skating, lavish costumes and breathtaking aerial acrobatics, all set to Tchaikovsky’s masterful score.

Adding 37 performances of The Nutcracker on Ice over Christmas and New Year to the conferences and business events we already have booked for ICC Wales during the first few months of opening, shows just how versatile the new Convention Centre will be.

The 1,500-seat, two-tier auditorium is the perfect theatre for performances of this type and The Nutcracker on Ice will no doubt be the first of many shows to grace this fantastic new stage.

The Nutcracker on Ice has wowed audiences in venues like the Royal Albert Hall and the London Palladium, so it’s a real coup to have the Imperial Ice Stars booked in to our new venue.

We always seek to create magical experiences at Celtic Manor over Christmas and The Nutcracker on Ice definitely fits the bill.

We also strive to create something for everyone in our calendar of events which also includes the Celebrity Cup golf in the summer, a Fireworks Spectacular around Bonfire Night, and Christmas Kingdom running from late November to January.

We hope to see you at one or more of these fantastic events.
