My fiancée was only just getting up from one knee when I had decided where we were getting married. It would of course be Celtic Manor Resort – as one of Wales’ most popular wedding venues it was a no brainer.
It was, however, the torture of choosing between the beautiful venues within the resort that caused problems.
Did we go for tradition and grandeur in Hedleys or laid back outdoors on the Rooftop Garden? Glamour and intimacy in Terry M or space and style in The Chairmans Marquee? The positive (and problem- eeek) with Celtic is the choice of venue. Whatever the size, style, or ceremony there’s a perfect place for every couple.
We wanted a laid back ceremony for around 70 guests - less hymns and screaming babies, more personality and intimacy - so decided on the Rooftop Garden. Situated at the Resort Hotel the stunning setting features a covered area with pea light canopy and open fire as well as a garden with glorious views stretching beyond the Severn Estuary in the distance.
We agreed it was the perfect setting for our chilled out ceremony and drinks reception, but was it the style and space we wanted for our 90 guest reception and evening party?
Enter The Chairmans Marquee – with one of the most beautiful views at the Resort (and that’s an achievement in itself) overlooking the 18th green of the Roman Road course, this place is photo opp heaven.
The spacious and stylish marquee with its white draping and new pea light draped ceiling is the perfect blank canvas for any bride, but in particular suited my neutral colour theme down to a tee! (Excuse the golf pun).
The added bonus of the adjoining Augusta Suite with its lounge area and self-contained bar sold it for us. Our elegant wedding breakfast would transform into a big old party faster than I could touch up my makeup!
The venues come with their own beautiful décor but you can choose, like us, to personalise it further with your own touches. The amazing team at WOW Event Hire are complimenting the twinkling light canopy under the Rooftop Barbeque Terrace with white draping and helping us transform the marquee into a bar feel in the evening with white sofas and low level tables. Time to find some dancing shoes!
