Zorse brings go faster stripes to Polo at the Manor

DISCLAIMER: This was an April Fools spoof story published on 1st April. No Zorse will appear at Polo at the Manor.

This year's Polo at the Manor will make sporting history when a Zorse takes the field for the first time.

The Zorse (a zebra/horse cross) is known to be agile and aggressive and polo experts believe the breed could soon become widespread in the Sport of Kings.

The Zorse - or Zony as polo is traditionally played by ponies - has been performing well in training for Polo at the Manor which takes place on Saturday 18th June.

Celtic Manor's Head of Equestrian Events Jim Carner said:

We’re excited to announce that Celtic Manor’s Polo at the Manor will be the first polo tournament ever to feature a Zorse as part of the team this June. The Zorse is powerful and quick - it must be the go-faster stripes - and we’re confident it will make an exciting addition to the team this year. We think this has the potential to transform the face of polo for years to come.

Polo at the Manor returns this summer for a day of champagne hospitality and scintillating sporting action which is billed as the social event of the season. Lydia Bright, star of reality show The Only Way Is Essex, and fellow TV personality Denise Van Outen will be among the celebrities attending.

To complement the sumptuous hospitality pavilion and private pods, Celtic Manor has created new gazebos for spectators wishing to upgrade the experience in general admission. Perfect for small groups of up to 10 with a perfect view of all the polo action, gazebos come complete with Pimm’s on arrival and a delicious Polo Picnic Box lunch.

To find out more about Polo at the Manor and book tickets, visit the website. Gazebos start from £69 per person, while general admission tickets are from £20 for adults and £8 for children.
