TV Judge Faces His Own Dragons’ Den

Category: What's New

Entrepreneur and TV star Peter Jones will put himself at the mercy of a Dragons’ Den when he plays for England at Wales’ Celtic Manor Resort in the brand new Celebrity Cup next month.

Business tycoon Jones is best known as a stern-faced judge on BBC’s Dragons’ Den but he will be placed under a hostile spotlight himself when he tees up for Wales’ oldest enemy in a four nations battle which also features teams of celebrity golfers from Ireland and Scotland.

Welsh 400-metre runner turned One Show reporter Iwan Thomas will also play in The Celebrity Cup at Golf Live which already features the likes of comedian Rob Brydon, Olympic hero Sir Steve Redgrave, Hollywood actor Ioan Gruffudd, former Westlife singer Brian McFadden and football legend Kenny Dalglish.

With sporting passions ignited, they will all be bidding to get their hands on a trophy presented by Ant and Dec, the double act who have become television’s most popular presenters.

The all-new Celebrity Cup forms part of Golf Live, the world’s best interactive golf show where Ryder Cup legend Colin Montgomerie and other golf stars and coaches will demonstrate their wonderful skills and techniques. Guests can also marvel at breath-taking long-driving and trick shot shows from Joe Miller and Paul Barrington, while describing the action will be BBC golf commentator Andrew Cotter and Sky Sports presenter Diana Dougherty.

In addition, guests can try their own hand at nearest the pin and straightest drive competitions, be individually custom-fitted for the latest big-brand golf equipment, and browse one of golf’s most complete tented villages where they can see everything from the latest clothing to the most visited golf destinations.

The weekend also includes a glittering gala dinner on Saturday night and the entire event will raise funds for the Elizabeth Montgomerie Foundation, founded in memory of Colin’s mother who died of lung cancer in 1991.

Tickets for Golf Live and The Celebrity Cup start from just £15. For more information or to buy tickets visit  or phone 01633 410318.
