Wales was delighted to welcome around 100 conference buyer delegates for a Summit Experience weekend, showcasing the venues and facilities that hosted the NATO Summit in September 2014.
Using the success of the Summit as a platform, the Welsh Government has launched a new campaign to promote business tourism. The campaign aims to bring more major UK and international conferences and events to Wales to capitalise on the global attention brought by NATO.
This Summit Experience offered a rare opportunity to follow in the footsteps of President Obama and many of the world’s most influential leaders, seeing some of the very best that Wales has to offer. Delegates even had the opportunity to pose for a recreation of the iconic group photo taken of the world leaders in front of Cardiff Castle.
Starting at the Celtic Manor Resort, which hosted the NATO Summit, delegates were taken to see many of Cardiff’s inspirational event venues, culminating in a Summit Dinner at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, before enjoying a luxury overnight stay at partner hotels, St David’s, The Hilton, Park Plaza, Thistle Cardiff The Parc, Mercure Cardiff Holland House, Radisson Blu, Cardiff Marriot, The Vale Resort, Novotel Cardiff, and the Best Western Plus Maldron.
