bible’ commends the Newbridge for “a winning formula” and says, “Expect homely
but often imaginative food that bursts with flavour.”
head chef Adam Whittle said:
It is a real honour to have won a place in the
Good Food Guide. This comes as a result of all the hard work and
dedication of the entire team at the Newbridge on Usk. What is especially pleasing is that listings in The Good
Food Guide are not just based on the findings of their own independent judges
but also on the views of customers who take the time to send in their comments
on their experiences of the restaurant.
dishes singled out in the Good Food Guide listing include an “exceptional”
starter of crisp-coated lamb breast with curried sweetbreads, celeriac
marmalade and Puy lentil vinaigrette; and 28-day matured, pan-roasted Welsh
beef with roasted garlic mash, bone marrow, wild mushrooms and oxtail jus, a
main course which is described as “rich and satisfying”.
Reflecting its scenic setting, the delicious seasonal
menu of wholesome country fare at the Newbridge on Usk is lovingly cooked using
local produce including fresh vegetables taken from its own kitchen garden.
