Former Scotland rugby star Kenny Logan tees up for Scotland in The Celebrity Cup

England’s Rugby World Cup winner Matt Dawson and Match of the Day pundit Alan Hansen are among the latest star names to sign up for The Celebrity Cup at Golf Live, which takes place at the Celtic Manor Resort from May 10-12.

This Morning TV presenter Matt Johnson and former Scotland rugby star Kenny Logan will also compete in the celebrity golf tournament featuring teams representing England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. They join the likes of comedian Rob Brydon, football legend Kenny Dalglish, TV personalities Gethin Jones and Jodie Kidd, Boyzone singer Keith Duffy and Olympic hero Sir Steve Redgrave, who had already been called up for the star-studded event .

Thousands of fans will be attending Golf Live featuring The Celebrity Cup at Celtic Manor for what is Britain’s only family golf and lifestyle weekend. Overseeing the celebrity tournament is one of the world’s most legendary golfing talents, Colin Montgomerie, who returns to the scene of his greatest triumph after leading Europe to Ryder Cup victory as captain at Celtic Manor in 2010.

Television’s most popular presenters, Ant and Dec, will also be there on the Sunday, swapping the jungle for the lush fairways of the Celtic Manor Resort when they present the trophy to the winning national team.

The all-new Celebrity Cup forms part of Golf Live, an annual weekend in which members of the public, with tickets for as little as £10, can get golfing tips from the world’s top pros, test the latest clubs, buy exclusive merchandise, organise holidays to the world’s finest courses and explore the world of golf in a totally unique manner. Away from golf, families will be well catered for at Celtic Manor, the Welsh host of the 2010 Ryder Cup – the resort boasts fabulous activities, including adventure playgrounds and an award-winning spa.

Montgomerie says:

There is no other event like it in golf, and for golfers to be given the chance to come along and see the interaction between the pros, the coaches and the general public and now the celebrities is fantastic.

The weekend also includes a glittering gala dinner on Saturday night and money raised from the weekend’s events will be donated to the Elizabeth Montgomerie Foundation, founded in memory of Colin’s mother who died of lung cancer.

Tickets are available at early bird discounts from £10 for adults and £5 for children until 15th March. Hospitality packages start from £150 including VAT.
