Recently, we hosted our second #MyCelticXmas Blogger Event at The Celtic Manor Resort, an exclusive preview of our 2015 Christmas Afternoon Tea, full of festive treats and mulled wine. The blogger’s who attended were greeted with drinks followed by a mulled wine demonstration from our head barman Scott. It was a fantastic day full of Christmas spirit and plenty of photo opportunities, take a look below at just some of the pictures from the event as well as quotes from some of the attendees reviews.
Firstly we had a demonstration from their head barman on their mulled wine. He showed us how to steep it in cinnamon and pour it over orange slices studded with cloves. It was honestly the best mulled wine I had ever tasted and I will definitely be re-creating it at home!! - Ali, cookiesandcwtches.com
The whole menu appealed to me, probably because there were a lot of savouries and sandwiches and the sweets included a Festive Penderyn and Marmalade Bara Brith, topped with marzipan and icing (hello heaven in a slice of cake!), a Pistachio Marzipan Cone and a Cherry and Apricot Florentine slice. There were two types of scones, a Spiced Cranberry and a Chestnut. Carl finished his in-depth description and swiftly after his exit, the food started to arrive. Beca - becamurphlp.wordpress.com
The cakes were just outstanding. A selection of festive favourites, with a little Celtic Manor magic; there's something to satisfy even the sweetest tooth.
