New to Rafters, head chef Gavin Mc Donagh joins the team from country inn Newbridge on Usk 

“I came from the Newbridge for more of a challenge, I spent three years there and wanted to work on something new, working at a golf club is a first for me too and I’m looking forward to a change.” 

Gavin’s new summer menu launches on 11th May and promises a breath of fresh air for the season ahead. 

“The menu has lots of light summery dishes perfect for dining al fresco on the Rafters balcony. There’s a lot more choice on the menu with dishes ranging from steak to pasta with a mix of Welsh and British influences” 

As for his favourite dish… 

“It has to be the Welsh goats cheese bruschetta, it’s the perfect summer starter, and it’s everyone’s favourite”
