Celtic Manor struck Gold at the National Tourism Awards for Wales 2015, winning the first prize for Best Business Tourism.

Following a memorable 12 months during which it staged the NATO Summit, Celtic Manor won the award in recognition of its excellent facilities and expertise in hosting conferences and events.

The resort also picked up a couple of Silver awards after being judged runner-up in the Best Place to Stay (Hotel) and Tourism Skills Development categories.

After receiving the Gold at the awards ceremony at the Vale Resort, Celtic Manor Resort Chief Executive Ian Edwards said:

We are delighted to win a National Tourism Award for Wales, especially following such an important year when we partnered with the Welsh and UK Governments to host the 2014 NATO Summit. Celtic Manor is proud to be a landmark tourist destination for Wales, but winning an award like this is a fantastic endorsement for the work we do. The National Tourism Awards for Wales are a wonderful showcase for the Welsh tourism industry and it is an honour to win one of these awards with so many excellent finalists shortlisted.

Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism, Ken Skates, said:

The National Tourism Awards are the Oscars of the tourism industry and pay tribute to those who are committed and passionate about their businesses, tourism and Wales. The quality of what we have to offer here in Wales goes from strength to strength and the Awards are an opportunity for us all to celebrate the industry and to showcase the outstanding quality of our vibrant tourism sector. I’d like to congratulate the winners and wish you the very best for a successful season ahead.

The awards, which are run by Visit Wales in commercial partnership with Quadrant Media Communications, recognise the best in Welsh tourism. See a full list of winners here.
