Television star Angela Griffin was a recent visitor to Celtic Manor with her family, making the most of some rare down time in her busy working schedule.
The actress who has appeared in a host of popular dramas including Coronation Street, Holby City and Waterloo Road enjoyed dinner in the Newbridge on Usk and playing adventure golf with her husband Jason and their two daughters, Tallulah (8) and Missie (5). She said:
There's so much to do with the little ones and we enjoyed the adventure golf so much, we played both days. I even managed to get a hole-in-one which I'm stupidly chuffed about!
We've been to Celtic Manor a couple of times before but I'd never eaten at the Newbridge on Usk. The concierge driver recommended sharing the fish platter to start, but he did warn us it might fill us up for the main course. He was right! But we battled through... the food was amazing.
Angela can still be seen on screen in the Sky comedy drama, Mount Pleasant, and fronting the documentary relaity show, Emergency with Angela Griffin. She has also set up her own production company, Mulberry Films.
Husband Jason is also in demand as an ITV continuity announcer but the couple share a passion for food and, when time allows, they are also developing their own street food company, Pigs & Dogs.
