Training
The Celtic Manor Resort is firmly committed to developing and investing in its people. Since 1999, we have implemented a system of departmental training.
To highlight the importance we place on training, The Celtic Manor Resort’s full policy, outlining the responsibilities various people have to ensure that the skills of each employee are successfully developed, is given below.
Training Policy
We know that if we provide high-quality training for each one of our employees, we will achieve high-quality results. The Celtic Manor Resort recognises that the training and development of its employees is fundamental to the continued and increased business success of the Resort and the satisfaction of our guests. To this end, the board of Directors/Chairman/Chief Executive/Chief Operating Officer have made human and financial resources available for the development of employees at all levels.
On day one of your Induction you will be introduced to the Celtic College, receive a copy of the prospectus and training passport, which will be used as a record of your training and development. The Celtic College mission is to commit to your development and the aim is to shape your career at The Celtic Manor Resort.
During your first three months with us, you will be professionally trained within a comprehensive initial training programme, which is tailored, to your needs. But this is just the start of our long-term commitment to your personal and career development.
In your department, you will be trained in how to perform your job effectively. Whatever your work involves, you will be encouraged to master the relevant skills, and given feedback on your progress.
Food Service Academy
New starters attending the Food Service Academy are important to the success of the Food and Beverage team, and we want you to succeed. Whatever your ambitions and plans for the future, we will be with you all the way. Starting a new job affects people in different ways and it can be nerve racking and daunting. We understand this and recognise everyone takes time to find their feet, so to help you through this we have developed a Food Service Academy.
Your first day within the Food Service Academy will be with Rob Hookham, Food and Beverage Trainer, before you are transferred to your specified department where you will undergo a detailed training programme on all aspects of Food and Beverage at the Resort.
Following this, you will be enrolled within the Food Service Academy for eight weeks and will be certified after twelve weeks.
