Junior Golf Development
The Celtic Manor Resort has a long-standing commitment to the development of junior golf in Wales. We believe that the key to the growth of golf is player development at junior level, and with our partnerships and initiatives, we have put ourselves at the forefront of junior player development.
Our team of professionals based at the Academy offer comprehensive junior golf tuition, junior coaching weeks during school holidays and one to one lessons.
The Junior Wales Open presented by Coca-Cola
It is with regret that the decision has been taken not to hold the Junior Wales Open event this year.
The Celtic Manor Resort will be hosting The Ryder Cup this autumn, with the famous match play tournament being held in Wales for the first time in history. The commitment required from the whole Resort to host this prolific event means we are unable to stage the Junior Wales Open in 2010.
As we are sure you will appreciate, the organisation and staging of four qualifying tournaments around Wales as well as the hosting of a summer grand final at The Celtic Manor Resort is no small undertaking.
We have been delighted to be able to contribute to developing junior golfing talent in Wales over the last eight years, and have been extremely proud of all the winners and competitors who have taken part in the event.
The Celtic Manor Resort would also like to take this opportunity to thank the tournament’s principal sponsor Coca-Cola for their continued support.
We hope we can continue to count on the loyal backing and commitment of our sponsors, partners and participants in 2011 when we plan to reintroduce the Junior Wales Open.

The Junior Ryder Cup
In September 2006, The Celtic Manor Resort was the venue for The Junior Ryder Cup. Featuring some of the world’s best junior golfers, the tournament was played on the Roman Road course in the run up to the 2006 Ryder Cup.
